Genotyping services are available for any species, provided libraries have first been developed by GIS. All work performed by GIS is

unconditionally guaranteed and the scope of work and costs are described below.

PHASE I

Develop four microsatellite libaries

Sequence a total of 240 clones

Design primers for all microsatellite-containing sequences

Cost: $12,500

PHASE II

Synthesize and test primers to identify candidate loci against eight individuals

Provide at least 40 primer pairs that amplify against genomic DNA of the eight samples

Cost: $7,500

PHASE III

Characterization by testing against 30 individuals using 25 loci by polyacrylamide electrophesis

Charcterization includes determining allele frequencies, heterozygosity and absence of null alleles

Cost: $2,500

Upon completion of Phase III, GIS can proceed to genotyping. The genotyping cost per individual is $5.00 a data point, i.e. if GIS types

using 10 loci, the cost per individual is $50; 12 loci is $60 per individual etc.

Please call or e-mail GIS for a specific project quote.
